HT Pauli pro Östigard in Napoli Training: Perfect transfer
Former St. Pauli defender
Former FC St. Pauli player Leo Östigard remains in Italy after spending six months at Genoa CFC. However, the 22-year-old centre-back won’t play for relegated Serie B side, but for Champions League participants SSC Napoli. After the next transfer was reported for weeks, the Norwegian was presented by ‘Partenopei’ on Monday. He had already passed the medical examination at the Dimaro training camp.

Östigard is leaving Brighton & Hove Albion for good after four loan deals over the past three years. According to Sky Italia, the transfer earns the « Seagulls » a transfer fee of 5 million euros, which can go up to 9 million, as well as participation in a possible future transfer. Brighton signed the international in 2018 for just €110,000 from youth club Molde FK.
Napoli recently sold their chief of defense Kalidou Koulibaly (31) to Chelsea for 38 million euros. Besides Östigard, the southern Italians are also trying to outplay the competition in the race for Min-jae Kim (25) from Fenerbahçe, according to Gianluca Di Marzio’s editorial staff. With ex-Dortmunder Abdou Diallo (26), another high-quality defender was recently associated with SSC.
