Chelsea: Lampard tackles the former management
When discussing his succession and Chelsea’s search for a new coach to carry out his new project, Frank Lampard invited his leaders to take their time to choose the right candidate. Above all, by not imitating the old management who, despite key successes in the Premier League or the Champions League, could have done much better with more stability.
« Chelsea absolutely have to take their time to find the right manager. (…) I have always been part of the Chelsea team which changed coaches regularly. Looking back, it’s easy to say that I had a lot « I won three titles, but I should have won five or six. That’s my feeling. We could win more titles if we had been more consistent and if we could have worked in one direction. » And I think that’s what we’re supposed to do, » assured the Englishman at a press conference.
A clear message as the Blues have already had four different coaches (Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Bruno Saltor and therefore Lampard) since the arrival of new owner Todd Boehly this season…
