Called by Didier Deschamps for the next meetings of the France team, Marcus Thuram was full of confidence by scoring this Friday evening with Mönchengladbach against Werder Bremen (2-2).

The former Guingamp player opened the scoring (48th), but the visitors equalized twice, by Marvin Ducksch (65th, 89th), while Florian Neuhaus had restored the advantage to Borussia (71st).

Thuram had scored just one goal in eight appearances in 2023, but now he’s taken his tally to 12 this season in the Bundesliga. It is the best total of his league career for the 25-year-old.

In the standings, the two clubs remain in the soft underbelly, respectively 10th and 11th, far from European places but without danger of relegation.
