A first verdict has fallen for Mendy

The judge has ruled. Benjamin Mendy was found not guilty, this Friday, January 13, of six of the rapes of which he is accused as well as of a sexual assault by a popular jury in the United Kingdom. However, no verdict could be rendered concerning a seventh rape and another sexual assault. There will therefore be a new trial from June 26, which will last two to three weeks.
Co-accused in this case, Louis Saha Matturie was also found not guilty of three rapes. But he too will be tried again next September, the jury having failed to reach a verdict on six other counts.
Still under contract with Manchester City until June 30, Benjamin Mendy had not been paid by his club since September 2021. The Mancunian club also reacted to the verdict of the trial.
