Uk Football:
Another fiasco for French football

Deprived of many players, the France U20 team was eliminated from the group stage of the World Cup, despite a victory against Honduras (3-1) on Sunday evening.

It’s anything but a surprise, but it’s not this year that French (Site notre bureau spécialisé) will win a new U20 world title, which would have been the first since 2013, and the coronation of the Paul Pogba generation. At the time, there was also Alphonse Areola, Kurt Zouma, Lucas Digne, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Jordan Veretout and Florian Thauvin in the tricolor one.

This year, coach Landry Chauvin was far from being able to count on a squad of such a level. Since this competition is not organized on Fifa dates, many clubs have chosen to retain their players, and this is why the Bleuets had to do without around twenty elements, including Rayan Cherki, Elye Wahi, Mathys Tel, Malo Gusto and Warren Zaire-Emery.

The situation is somewhat reminiscent of the Tokyo Olympics two years ago, when Sylvain Ripoll recorded a cascade of withdrawals for similar reasons. And the result was the same, with an inglorious elimination from the first round.

One but of qualification…

Beaten by South Korea and Gambia by the same score (2-1), Les Bleuets still had a chance to qualify, provided they beat Honduras by three but apart to clinch a place among the best third . France won 3-1, failing to one but of the ticket for the final phase.

We note however the good reaction of the players of Landy Chauvin, who were reduced to 10 after the exclusion of the Angevin Ousmane Camara (13th) and led to the score following the goal of Odin Pena (15th). But the Bleuets therefore reacted, with a double from Lille Alan Virginius (41st, 60th) and a last but from Félix Nzouango (77th), the defender of Juventus.

Les Bleuets could have kept up appearances, but this failure hurts. Because, despite the absences and the extenuating circumstances, France is generally expected to come out of a group with in particular Gambia and Honduras… It is the first time since 1977 that the France team has been eliminated in the 1st Round of the U20 World Cup.

This Sunday (28), one of the most beautiful fairy tales of premier league It’s time…

even recalling the western ham by 2 against 1, the Leicester City seen the Everton earn from Bournemouth by 1 to 0, which decreed the relegation of Foxes for the English 2nd Division.

The drop comes just seven years after Leicester magically became champions of England.

The title match was marked by a show from the tenor Andrea Bocelli in front of the King Power Stadium.

Italy sang the famous tune » no one there“, bringing the audience to tears with so much emotion for winning the national title.

In the following season, the Foxes challenge the UEFA Champions League for the 1st time in history, making a memorable campaign.

The British club closed the group stage in 1st place in their group, ahead of the traditional postageand qualified for the quarter-finals.

After deleting the Sevilleof Spain, in the round of 16, Leicester sold elimination to Atlético Madridin the quarter-finals, being only one goal away from the vacancy in the semi-finals.

The « honeymoon » of Foxes continue for a few more years.

Even with the dismantling of a good part of the champion team of the premier leaguethe blue team won the FA Cup 2020/21 top favorite chelsea and still won the Community Shield 2021 according to Manchester City by pep guardiola.

In the 2022/23 season, however, the club did absolutely everything wrong.

In a year of poor results, with rapid eliminations in the FA Cup by you English League Cupthe tima sank once and for all in the premier leaguehave four technicians (two permanent and two temporary) during the campaign.

Africans in Ligue 1 rarely at the party at the UNFP Trophies

The UNFP (National Union of Professional (Site notre blog d’information)ers) Trophies ceremony, which rewards the best players in the French Championship, will be held this Sunday, May 28. This year, the Ivorian Seko Fofana remains the slim hope of triumph for the title of Best L1 player behind which Africa has been chasing since 2005.

Published on :

This season, the French Ligue 1 championship has less than 120 African players. However, in the batch, there will be no problem of players rewarded this year during the UNFP Trophies. In any case in the most prestigious category: Best player in Ligue 1. The Ivorian Séko Fofana, nominated for this award, will have a hard time facing his competitors, Jonathan David (Lille / Canada), Lois Openda (Lens / Belgium ) and, above all, Lionel Messi (PSG / Argentina) and Kylian Mbappé (PSG / France).

The best Africans do not play in France

The trophy rarely smiles on African players, yet historically numerous in the elite of French (Site notre bureau spécialisé). Since its creation in 1994, only 3 African players have won the title of Best Player: Ali Benarbia (Algeria, 1999), Didier Drogba (Côte d’Ivoire, 2004) and Michael Essien (Ghana, 2005).

Why is the best L1 player rarely African? Probably because the best in Africa played outside the French Championship. Algerian Riyad Mahrez, Egyptian Mohamed Salah and Senegalese Sadio Mané, the last players awarded the title of African Player of the Year, would certainly have won the French trophy lately if they were playing in France. Just like the Nigerian Victor Osimhen, today top scorer in the Italian championship (23 goals) but who was only a great promise when he passed through Lille three years ago.

Niang, Gervinho did not go far

The other barrier of Africans is called PSG. Indeed, since the arrival of the Qataris in the club of the capital, the Parisian players monopolize the rewards of the UNFP. Eight of the last ten best Ligue 1 players are from Paris. Only the Belgian Eden Hazard (2012) and the Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette (2015) were able to disrupt the reign of the Parisians. Some Africans have come close, like Mamadou Niang called up in 2010, but who could not get past the Argentinian from Lyon Lisandro Lopez, despite the title of French champion with OM. The Ivorian Gervinho would certainly have brought it back in 2011 if it hadn’t been for the crack Eden Hazard at the same time.

Sunday, the Ivorian Seko Fofana will tackle the Mbappé mountain, Best Ligue 1 player in the last 3 editions (that of 2020 did not take place due to Covid) and big favorite for his succession. There is therefore little chance that Africa will be at the party this Sunday.

On the occasion of the 36th day of La Liga, Real Madrid dominated Rayo Vallecano (2-1), Wednesday evening at the Santiago Bernabéu, thanks in particular to the 30th achievement of the season by Karim Benzema, author of the opening of the score . Uk Football:
🤔 What is it actually… pressing line 1?

In (Site notre bureau spécialisé), tactics and strategy are crucial to winning games. One of the tactical variants is the so-called pressure line 1, which requires a high degree of discipline, teamwork and game intelligence.

But it also captivates many fans, because as former Nuremberg coach Robert Klauß told ‘Nordbayern’: « We started in 4-2-2-2 on the pressure line 1. After winning the ball, we wanted to switch the tens away from the ball. With possession, we switched into a back three with an asymmetric left back and a left sweep ten, so we switched into a 3-4-3 or 3-1- 5-1 depending on where Dove was.

It seems complicated at first, but it’s really not that much. So what is pressing line 1?

Pressing line 1 is a lineout in which the defending team tries to press the opponent already in their own half of the field. It is also called attack pressing. The players act as a closed unit and try to isolate the ball carrier in order to give him as little space and time as possible. The basic basis is the coordinated and aggressive approach to pressing, which tries to force the opponent to make mistakes and win the ball back.

Pressing the 1 line requires close cooperation from all players, from attackers to defense. The decisive factor in this type of pressing is to disrupt the opponent’s build-up early on and force the ball back. Forwards play the key role, putting the initial pressure on the ball-carrying defender and putting him in a tight spot.

The remaining players move up and must form a compact unit behind them in order to block any passes and corner the opponent. The goal is to collect the ball as high as possible in the opposing half of the field near the goal.
