The champion is now certain in Serie A and in Ligue 1 it is probably only a matter of time. Behind them, however, there is still a fierce fight for places that entitle them to international business in the coming season. In Italy, four big clubs will face each other in direct duels on Saturday.

Along with Lazio, Milan welcome what is probably the biggest surprise team of the season. The Rossoneri are currently two points behind fourth place, which is currently occupied by city rivals Inter. For their part, the Nerazzurri are invited to the Italian capital at AS Roma.

There is also a standoff in Ligue 1. Olympique de Marseille and RC Lens are on the verge of qualifying directly for the Champions League. The loser will then most likely have to go through the agonizing summer qualifying rounds.

Hamburger SV somewhat lost touch with the direct promotion places due to the defeat against Magdeburg. Tonight’s home game against SC Paderborn is an indicator in two respects.

In order to keep the pressure on the second-placed Heidenheimers, the Rothosens need a win. A bankruptcy against the SCP would even seriously compromise the chances of being able to go up in relegation. With Paderborn, St. Pauli and Düsseldorf, three pursuers are still prancing around.

Even in league three, the promotion race will probably only be decided by a photo-finish. Dynamo Dresden host Wehen Wiesbaden on Saturday. The two clubs are separated by three points and the line which entitles them to direct promotion.

Freiburg’s reserves are still ahead of the duo, but according to the statutes they are not allowed to be promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga.

Just like with the men, there is an exciting duel for the women’s Bundesliga championship trophy.

Bayern come to Essen on Saturday and the Wolfsburg women will approach their home game against 1. FC Köln with increased confidence after reaching the Champions League final.
